Forgive and forget?
It’s easy to say “forgive and forget,” but it’s hard to do it. Painful memories of what someone else said or did linger in people’s minds long after it happened. It’s hard for people to forget about the things that have hurt them.
Because people are imperfect, it’s easy for them to do things that hurt others. Yet God is perfect. It’s impossible for Him to hurt anyone or do anything wrong. Everyone rebels against God and tries to do what they want instead of what He wants. This is called sin, and it hurts God. People’s sins hurt God much more than anybody could ever hurt another person.
God forgives anyone who is sorry for hurting Him. His forgiveness is so great that the Bible says “He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west” (Psalm 103:12).
When you have a personal relationship with God, He forgives you and helps you forgive others.
